Underground cross-cultural centre. Oslo

This project is about making a place where Norwegian and Muslim background people can meet and learn about each other's culture. The collective place that gives new meaning to Botanical garden and Munch Museum is a focus point.
Having done a research I came to following strategy - Provide suitable space for the social interaction to happen between different culture groups with the means of Botanical garden extension and Munch museum reconversion.
With my design I would like to create a sense of warm exotic space to visit during cold seasons. The exposition and flora represent cultural background of Toyen citizens in order to give them a feeling of home and offer Norwegians a glance to oriental world. And the fact that the building is partly introverted makes it even more intriguing space to explore.
The research question of my Master thesis - Which qualities should have a public place to be socialy cohisive, in order to adress problametics of cultural confrontations and city segregation of Eastern part of Oslo.
Following the analysis my urban strategy was - Provide suitable space for the social interaction to happen between different culture groups with the means of Botanical garden extention and Munch museum reconversion.
